| In
the upcoming game Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning there
are two factions. In the two factions there are six races,
three on each side. On the Order side there are Dwarves, Empire,
and High Elves. On the Destruction side there is Greenskins,
Chaos, and Dark Elves.
In this edition of the newsletter
I will be explaining the Destruction faction. The Orcs and
Goblins, (formerly known as the Greenskins) consists of these
careers Black Orcs, Orc Choppa’s, Goblin Shaman, and
Goblin Squig Herder.
The Chaos careers consist
of Chosen, Magus, Zealot, and Marauder. The Dark Elf careers
consist of Witch Elves, Black Guards, and two others that
aren’t announced yet.
The Greenskins consist
of the incredibly strong Orcs, and the quick witted Goblins.
Greenskins are savagery personified. They are ill-tempered,
primitive, and live only to fight.
In the absence of another
foe, Greenskins will eventually turn on one another for want
of violence. In their culture, might makes right and the weakest
members of society are one false step away from being dinner.
Black Orcs are melee based tanking
characters that can withstand heavy damage while doing decent
melee damage in the process.

Orc
Choppa’s deal lots of melee damage, but can’t
withstand nearly as much damage as the Black Orcs. Goblin
Shamans are the primary healer type for the Greenskins and
use spells to buff their ally’s abilities. Goblin Squig
Herder’s are the archers of the Greenskins. Goblin
Squig Herder’s are the archers of the Greenskins.
They use a pet called a Squig
to aid them in battle, and they shoot arrows at their foes.
Each Squig you choose to use has different abilities and skills.
The Chosen career wear lots
of heavy armor and deal melee damage to their foes. Chosen
also get “Dark Gifts” which allow the player to
manipulate their offensive abilities and greatly increase
them.
The Magus career uses spells
to weaken and kill their foe from afar. With a wide variety
of spells to choose from, each ability must be used at the
right time in combat to be most effective.
The Zealot career channels
the power of his master through totems, and can used to buff/debuff
friends and foes.
Zealot’s primarily
focus on making their ally’s stronger while weakening
their enemies at the same time. Marauder’s use their
power to change their physical appearance and become stronger
as they fight.
Marauder’s deal massive
amount of melee damage with a sword in one hand and the other
hand mutates itself as you fight increasing in power with
the more enemies you kill.

Long
ago, when Chaos was first unleashed upon the world, the Elven
champion Aenarion drew the dread Sword of Khaine from its
altar and used its terrible power to save his people from
annihilation. When Aenarion died, his son Malekith was deemed
unsuitable for the throne. Although he was a mighty warrior,
a great sorcerer, a brilliant general and the rightful heir,
many Elves opposed his coronation.They feared he was too focused
on war, and potentially a de-stabilizing influence on the
High Elf race. In retaliation, over many years Malekith engineered
a terrible civil war that divided the race of Elves into two
factions. It was the High Elves who emerged victorious and
drove the evil Dark Elves out from the ancestral home of their
race. Under the leadership of Malekith the Witch King and
his Sorceress mother Morathi, the Dark Elves sailed across
the Great Western Ocean and founded for themselves a new kingdom
in the northern reaches of the New World. This land they called
Naggaroth.
Witch Elves use their extreme
agile and superb dagger skills to mutilate any enemy that
comes in melee range of them. Witch Elves build up rapid combos
to go into a frenzy where they then execute a powerful attack
that kills most enemies quickly. Black
Guards wear heavy armor and do medium to heavy amounts of
damage wielding two handed halberds.

In the icy wastes north of Kislev dwell nomadic tribes
of barbarians known throughout the Empire as the North men.
Sometimes a powerful leader will arise among these savage
humans, uniting the tribes into a great war host that marches
south toward Kislev and the Empire. At such times as this,
the North men seek only bloodshed and conquest, for they
are willing servants of the inscrutable Chaos gods.
